This apartment, located in Paris’ 8th arrondissement, underwent a complete renovation with the ambition of recreating the timeless Haussmannian aesthetic in a space that originally lacked character and architectural identity. We carefully reintroduced the iconic elements of this style refined wall moldings, elegant paneling, harmonious proportions, and herringbone parquet flooring to restore the soul and nobility of classic Parisian interiors. The result is a bright, understated, and sophisticated space, where classic French elegance meets contemporary design for a perfectly balanced and timeless atmosphere.
The process
1. Inspiration & Artistic Direction
We drew inspiration from the timeless codes of Haussmannian architecture, focusing on refined wall moldings, balanced proportions, and a soft, luminous palette. The aim was to create a calm, elegant atmosphere that feels both classic and contemporary.
2. Architectural Work & Custom Details
The volumes were restructured to restore the harmony typical of Parisian interiors. Wall paneling, cornices, and herringbone parquet flooring were carefully integrated to give the space a strong architectural identity, while maintaining visual lightness and clarity.
3. Finishes & Atmosphere
Warmth was introduced through natural materials, subtle textures, and soft, diffused light. Clean-lined furniture complements the classic elements, resulting in a space that feels bright, refined, and timeless.
